Have you seen it yet?

Of course I am talking about The Dark Knight. If you haven't I feel sorry for you and you should stop reading this now because it contains spoilers.

The Dark Knight was the greatest movie I have ever seen. This is my personal opinion. The Godfather movies were to hard for me to understand the actors and so I found them boring.

This movie had it all great actors, great plot, and great action. All it was missing was a beautiful woman to rescue. Maggie Gyllenhaal does not count.

I found the joker to be very dark and disturbing but also quite humorous. The pencil trick was my favorite scene. My favorite joker one liner was when he said he was a dog chasing a car, he wouldn't know what to do with it if he caught it.

I'm not to sure I liked the ending. I know it wrapped some stuff up but left a bunch of loose ends hanging out there. It makes me really want the 3rd movie to come out soon but I bet its at least 2 years before we see that. I personally was shocked when Harvey Dent "died". This of course does not mean that Two-Face isn't still out there. We never did see a casket at the funeral and it was called a Memorial Service saying he died in the Hospital fire. The whole joker as a nurse was hilarious and disturbing. Man I'm going to miss Heath Ledger's acting in this.

Great movie I give it a perfect 10/10

Lots of randomness

So I am feeling really random right now as a million thoughts stream through my mind at once. Hopefully this post will have some order to it.

First off, have you ever listened to Hotel California. Obviously that is a stupid question, if you haven't do because its a good song and you deserve to hear a good song. BUT what really gets me going is how damn long the introduction is. It really pisses me off and its pointless and could be skipped and probably is on some radio stations that have the sense to avoid that long ass guitar solo at the beginning. And then another long ass solo in the middle. Now like I said earlier I do enjoy this song but sometimes it gets a little ridiculous.

The Dark Knight. I still haven't seen it but in less than 4 hours I will be sitting in a theater seat with a sticky floor below me trying to swallow my shoes, a bag of popcorn, and a big ass pop at hands reach being blown away but what I know will be one of the greatest movies EVER. (imdb.com has it at #4 all time as of right now but of course this will go down as more reviews come in and as dumbasses give it low scores just to be cockmonglers and rottentomatoes.com has it inching its way back up after falling to 89% and last I checked it was at 94%).

Another side my sister is deathly afraid of the joker. I find this quite humorous as I find no fear at all with the character. Of course, after the movie this may change.

I read on some website about a guy he shoved his arm down a sharks throat, past its menacing man-eating jaws to retrieve a grappling hook that had stuck so gratefully gotten stuck in its digestive track. Now I am sorry but I have heard stories about sharks killing people. I have no understanding as why some man (who was a veteranarian) would ever want to save a shark. I say just give it a shot and let it die.

Facebook

Facebook - the lifeblood of many people trying to stay connected with their friends from near and far. To join groups and make friends with people you don't even know just to be able to have another person's information to look at.

I personally do not do that last bit and I refuse to become friends with people who I am not truly friends with. What this usually means is that if I accept someone's friend request than that means that we are actually friends and there is a TRUE friendship there.

Another thing I noticed about me and my Facebook is how excited I get when I see the red box show up in the lower right hand corner. I don't know about you but this usually makes my dull, boring day at work a little better.

I saw WANTED this weekend. It was okay. It wasn't overly great by any means but I did not hate it either. This is a movie I would recommend to rent because I do not see it having a very high rewatchability.

The Dark Knight in less than a week.

Random Ramblings

So its Friday and I have read a lot of Internet articles while at work. First off, Eric Shanteau is one of my heroes and I really hope he wins at the Olympics.

Also, I just read an article stating that Brett Favre filed a formal release request from the Packers which means to me that he is not done playing but won't play for Green Bay next year. Perhaps he will go and play for the Vikings because all they are short of a Super Bowl Contender is a solid QB. It would also be a good stab at the Packers Organization for having their heads up their asses and not holding on to him.

I am also starting to make my own corn hole game (not joking, this is actually one of the names for the game) also known as bags game and many other names.

One week until THE DARK KNIGHT comes out. For fun, view all the original trailers from the first movies for a good laugh.

The Dark Knight and Hancock

I cannot wait for this movie to come out. I have heard so many amazing things about it. Thoughts of Heath Ledger being up for an Oscar makes me want to see it even more. I read that some theathers are having three different showings the night it comes out at 12, 3 and 6. No matter what its going to be brilliant.

On the topic of movies, I went and saw Hancock. It was much better than I originally anticipated it being. It pulled at many different emotions and was much more than just a typical guys movie. Again, Will Smith steals the show on 4th of July.

Wall-E

Wall-E was much better movie than I originally anticipated it being. I was a little skeptical when they said there wasn't much dialogue in it but somebody was mistaken. It seemed as though there was enough dialogue to carry the movie from beginning to end. I believe that Pixar was going for the "big" effect. It seems like they were using as much space as they possible could. Very neat effect. Also good pokes at society as well. Don't want to give anything away. You just have to see it. Highly recommended

NEW Video Games

I've been too busy to really get much playing time into it but Top Spin 3 is so far fairly realistic which is a lot better than any other tennis game to date. The graphics are amazing even on my crappy TV that I play on. Also using the right stick to serve is interesting and I really suck at it. This means that its going to take some time before I am any good at it. I really like this aspect in video games. I hate that games that someone can just pick up really really fast and be good at it. I like games that take some background knowledge before being any good at them such as Skate.

I also got a Wii Classic Controller and downloaded two mario games. Super Mario World and Mario 3. Even though I beat Mario World, it took about the whole 1st semester of last year to do so. This game is very entertaining for me to play as well as those around me as it is very frustating when I die. I also die a lot.

Final note here, so far Wall-E has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Captain Planet was dumb

Anyone remember Captain Planet and the Planeteers? (Generation of twenty-year-olds are now all going "FUCK yeah!"). Even by the standards of the late 80's and early 90's, it was one of the more dreadful series-s, or whatever the plural of series is.

If you're scratching your head in wonder, let me bring you up to speed. Captain Planet was about five apparently randomly-selected kids from five different countries who are given fantastically powerful energy rings. Now, let's not dwell on how completely irresponsible that is. I suppose what I remember most about the series is how easily the theme song was corrupted for short-lived playground amusement. I can still remember a small legion of ten year olds singing "CAPTAIN PLANET / HE'S AN IDIOT / GONNA TAKE POLLUTION UP TO A MILLION". A million of what was never specified, but hell, we were kids. It was almost as much fun as changing the lyrics of the Lightning Seeds' "Lucky You" to "Mucky Poo".
Getting back to these rings. Each of these rings represented a different element, except one, which represented a muscular organ of the circulatory system. Let's go through them and see what I can remember about them.

Earth - they handed this over to the African bloke, presumably because earth is traditionally brown and so are Africans. This could basically create and control rocks. It was extremely useful when making Japanese gardens, but I wonder... what constitutes 'earth'? Metals are made of ore that come from the Earth, could he control metals as well? Could he create T1000-style stabbing weapons from thin air? Probably not, 'cos no-one was allowed to stab anyone in this sort of cartoon series.

Fire - this was given to Wheeler, the completely irresponsible American git who was a total cunt and I will hear no argument. His is the only name I can remember, as it was also the name of my 'house' at grammar school. As I recall, within five minutes of getting his ring he set fire to something by accident. That should probably have been the time whoever organised this elite band realised the importance of a proper selection process.

Water - There were two girls in the team (natch). One of them had water, and the other had wind. I can't remember which one was which, or their nationalities. There was definitely one from Eastern Europe. For some reason I thought the other was Western Europe, but Sarah assures me the other was from 'Asia'. That was all they gave, 'Asia', so presumably she was Indo-Chino-Japanese-Afghani.

Wind - When we were making up that schoolboy parody of the opening sequence, it was stretching a little bit to pretend that 'earth' referred to poo and 'water' referred to wee, but anyone could see the humour value in 'wind'. The creators of the series must have known that we'd be taking the piss out of it. If they'd called it 'air' we'd've been in trouble, but I guess 'air' isn't as dramatic. Any schoolboy who recites the line "From wherever, whatsername! With the power of WIND!" and does not immediately follow it with a loud raspberry has got something seriously wrong with them.

Heart - They had to take a fairly broad selection of kids from all over the world (the only requirement being that they spoke fluent English, apparently), and with only four rings that wouldn't have been as broad as they liked. So they invented another one to have a greater international appeal. This was some South American kid, and he had the wholly unspecific power of 'heart'. Why stop there? They could have invented a few more. "From Western Europe, Roland! With the power of FISH!" "From Australasia, Barry! With the power of DANCE!" 'Heart' was apparently 'the most special power of all', 'special' I suppose in the same sense as 'special school for special children'.

When the power of these five rings were brought together, they summoned forth a green-haired demigod by the name of CAPTAIN PLANET, who I think was Wheeler's mentor, as he had an American accent and was the biggest cunt in the universe. This show suffered from the Power Rangers/Sailor Moon problem, that being "Why didn't you do that in the first place" syndrome. There was really no point in doing anything prior to summoning the omnipotent all-powerful superhero, but they did it anyway, presumably for smacktardy reasons.

The villains in Captain Planet never had a fucking clue. They never figured out that if they committed crimes that DIDN'T involve damaging the environment, like extortion or gang rape, then the Planeteers couldn't lift a finger. But no, it was always pollution for pollution's sake. There was one prat who somehow got hold of an oil tanker, and deliberately caused a massive slick just for the sake of malice. Why did no-one point out to him that he could have sold that oil to petrol stations, make a huge profit, be operating entirely within the law and wouldn't have to get punched in the stomach by a wise-cracking twat in his underpants? They could've robbed a bank and used the money to pay for a dolphin sanctuary, that would've confused the fuck out of those pesky meddling kids.

One of these retards was some woman who'd had half her face burnt off, and another who looked an awful lot like The Thing from the Fantastic Four. My theory is it was a dare on the part of the show's writers.

WRITER A: Who shall we have for the villains?
WRITER B: I'm bored. Let's just rip them all off from Marvel and DC comics.
WRITER A: Okay!
WRITER B: Hey, wait, I wasn't serious!
WRITER A: Ooh, chickening out now, are you?WRITER B: I am not!WRITER A: Pussy pussy pussy!
WRITER B: Shut up!
WRITER A: Dares ya.
WRITER B: Don't dare me, 'cos I'll do it.WRITER A: Double dares ya!WRITER B: You're in trouble now, 'cos I'm gonna do it!
WRITER A: Triple dares ya
!WRITER B: OH BOY YOU'RE IN TROUBLE NOW!

I guess I'm done on this subject now. Nighty night, and remember: Save electricity, pick up litter, and never trust people who run oil tankers and big corporations!

The Good with some bad

Good news from the doctor is that I am clear to go out of town on the 4th of July but the bad news is that I can't go out till the 4th of July weekend. He wants me to wait one more week. This really sucks as I wanted to go to Logan and Lauren's wedding. In other news, I start my tennis league tonight which should be fun and I am picking up a copy on Top Spin 3 tomorrow.

Pure Awesomeness

So yesterday was a great day. On Saturday, I decided to test my body by playing a little bit of tennis and it went great without any ill reprecussions. So yesterday I decided that I was good to go and do whatever I wanted to. I played basketball for about an hour at 1:30 and then went and played some tennis for about another hour. Both times just low key with nothing too intense. Then, last night I played basketball again and this time I went all out full court, with full intensity and I played magnificantly. I was fearful that my five weeks and counting off would have made me play really poorly and run out of energy very quickly. This did not happen and I was very surprised. I played my heart out and today, albeit a little stiff, I feel great and plan on balling again tonight.

I am also hoping that this brings about my ability to travel and not worry about any issues with my injury. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I will ask him about it (I already know his answer will be yes, since he said I am able to swim now which is a very dirty activity for an open wound). If he, in fact, does say yes then I will have him right me a not so I can prove to my parents that I am good to go.

Wii Fit

I bought Wii Fit today and another Wii for a friend. Wii Fit was for my mom but I've put in a lot of time breaking it in. I played for almost an hour and already know that I love it. I really like the idea of the top scores and I love being #1 for all the games just to torque the rest of my family off. Funny thing is though is that I set everything up for it and then after I played for an hour I rechecked everything and it said I already lost 1.9 pounds and that my age went from 19 to 25. Which struck me as odd but then I realized that it isnt perfect especially on the carpet. Thanks Logan for letting me know this. Well its off to bed

My and my XBox

I have noticed that since I started working 3 full weeks ago I have played my XBox a total of 0 minutes. I haven't decided if it is just because I have been too tired to play or if it is because I am not interested in any of the games I have right now. I know for sure that I will get some good playing time next week after I purchase Top Spin 3 which is suppost to be a great new tennis game. I really hope it is because so far the tennis games I have played remind me too much of pong but insted of just getting to the spot you have to also hit a button

Haze Yatzee

Quick post right now.

Check out Yatzee 's review of Haze with no sound. Trust me its probably not as funny but still funny without the sound. (My work computer does not have speakers so I really had no choice)

Also very tired after staying up late watching the Celtics beat some high school team last night. (actually the LA Lakers but I really didnt see much difference.) On a side not, Kobe < MJ forever. no more comparing the two please. Kobe sucked it up in these finals and I don't see him winning another championship at the helm of his team without a big man. See Shaq and LA from early 2000s. Another note MJ never lost a finals that he played in and was the Finals MVP six times. so suck it Kobe

Major Changes

I've decided that I have no interest in forming the minds of young children, making almost no money, and getting little respect. I have decided that I would much rather pursue a career in business. I'm not exactly sure what area of business I would pursue. This was not that easy of a task to change my major being the fact that I was four hours away and revamped my schedule while talking to someone I had never talked to before. This means that I will not be taking any more humanities or history classes which for some reason makes me very happy.

Speaking of next school year, I realized how crazy busy I will be. I am an Intramural Supervisor and secretary of Rider Hall senate. I also need to find time to study and I have to go to class. Sunday evenings through Friday afternoon or going to be very busy for me next year. I have senate meetings every Sunday evening. Class everyday during the week then in middle afternoon, I have Supervisor duties, and then I should study at night but probably will not which sucks. So it looks as though I'm gonna have to hunker down and make myself study.

Kobe Blows

I am so pumped about how last night NBA Finals game went. I don't even care that it was rigged to get the Lakers-Celtics matchup. It was awesome to see the LA Kobes piss the game down their legs. This from ESPN about sums up why I am so happy about it...
"The Kobe-MJ thing ... done. Over. Jordan never would have let that happen in the Finals. Ever. Under any circumstances. Nobody is ever allowed to bring this up again."
A huge game for the Celtics who are making it look that maybe the West is not as strong as everybody thought it was in comparison to the East.
If you didn't watch the game don't worry, its gonna be on ESPN Classic for the next 4 months until next season starts.

Summer Movies

As we approach the 13 of June, I have come to a great realization that there are a bunch of movies coming out this summer that I feel that I must see. I will give some remarks on what I expect out of the movies that I want to see.
Prince Caspian - awesome movie that I already saw of course it makes me have an even greater respect for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull - seeing this one in a couple of hours; I had a high expectation for this movie orignally but after hearing some people say it wasn't very good I am a little worried about it

Kung Fu Panda - being the Jack Black fan that I am, I am expecting this one to be full of physical humor in animated form and also look really sweet at the same time

Incredible Hulk - I expect this to be more of Edward Norton as Bruce Banner trying to figure out what to do with is issue and then learning to use the Hulk to his advantage. I expect this to fairly good with some sweet effects as well

The Happening - M. Night Shyamalan's first rated R flick. I'm ready for Marky Mark to have another great acting performance and to have the piss scared out of me

The Love Guru - Michael Myers as Austin Powers never failed in making me laugh so I expect this movie to do the same. Jessica Alba in the movie doesn't hurt this flicks watchability eiher

Wall-E - Disney/Pixar thats all that needs to be said. Gonna be a good one

Hancock - Will Smith as a drunk homeless superhero has great humor potential

The Dark Knight - the most anticipated movie of the year for me. I can't wait to see it. It will also be the first full length movie I will watch in IMAX. I expect it to be the biggest money maker of the year especially after Heath Ledger's death and the fact that it looks badass

Midnight Meat Train - I will not see this movie in theaters its just the fact that it sounds like a bad porn movie makes me want to see what type of advertisement will go out before its release

Tropic Thunder - Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. as a black man makes this movie funny already and I have no doubt that it will be

Quantum of Solace - okay not a summer movie but I want to see it badly and its James Bond with Daniel Craig so its gonna be good

Harry Potter 6 - again a fall movie but still anticipating it to fill my HP void since all the books have already come out and besides this one has to come out before Spielberg (rumored) does the 7th movie

That about sums up my summer movie list

Butt Words

Over the last year I school, I noticed and got upset over the fact that girls wear clothing with words written on the butt. What bothers me most about this is the fact that most girls do not like to have their hind ends stared at. But with words written upon their derrieres, it is just natural for people to want to know what the word or words say. It gets more difficult to read the words if the person is moving and there tush is moving as well causing the words to bounce around. Also, it is very embarassing when the person notices you staring at their rump and all you were honestly trying to do was read what it said there. If women don't want other people staring at their butts they shouldn't put words there.

My Surgery

Its been almost three weeks since my surgery and it does not show many signs of a super fast healing which really sucks. I have two weddings that I wanted to go to this summer and its looking as though I won't be able to attend either one which really sucks. Also, I am unable to do any sports which was my plan to play tennis and basketball all summer and thats pretty much out the window. The healing process usually takes about 8 weeks to be completed and I am hoping for a quick recovery which does not seem to be happenning.

2 Wii's in 6 days

The ever elusive Wii that has been hunted and wanted by many since they
came out. I personally have found two of these hard to find devices in less
than a week (one for a church auction and one for my dad for Father's Day)at Gamestop and Toys R Us and both of them being the last one they had in stock. My mom wants to get Wii Fit and I haven't decided yet if I will enjoy
it as much as she will. I find it amusing that my parents enjoy the Wii more than I do. I would much rather play the XBox 360 myself because it fits my playing interests more. The only reason I enjoyed the Wii so much was because of Super Mario World in the downloadable games area. My roommate from last year Logan, and his soon to be wife have good memories of my struggles through this game.

Word Verification

Almost everytime you set up something new, such as new email or a new blog, they require word verification. You know the stupid word that is nearly impossible to read in its crazy font with weird colors and to make matters even worse, they sometimes have lines going through the word to make it even tougher to read. One would think that with all the advances in technology we have today they would be able to come up with a way to not have to use those Verifications. Its almost as though sites that use these are trying to weed out some of the people who are unable to read them and that just does not seem right.

First Post

Hey everybody,

First post today while I am at work. I had a little downtime so I thought I'd see what this was all about. My roommate from last year, Logan Vander Wiel, introduced me to this blogging stuff during the past school year with his incessant typing at night. Anyways, I plan on using this to complain about everyday crap that angers me and just to ramble.

Have a hot day
